# Joldar

> Joldar (joldar.com) is a peer-to-peer car rental marketplace in Kazakhstan: people rent private cars by the day, week or month directly from their owners (hosts), on the website or in the Joldar mobile app (Turo model).

Cities: Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Oskemen (Ust-Kamenogorsk) and Shymkent. Launched in October 2026. The site is in Kazakh, Russian, English and Chinese; prices are in Kazakhstani tenge (₸).

Joldar operates the platform: payment, the deposit, ID checks, the photo record, support and disputes. The rental contract itself is between the host and the renter.

- **Booking:** Pick a city and dates and book on joldar.com or in the app. Instant-book cars are confirmed at once; otherwise the host answers within 60 minutes, or the request closes and nothing is charged. Booking only saves the card; the trip is charged 3 days before it starts (a trip starting sooner is held at the request and charged on confirmation), and trips of 14 days or more are charged weekly. If the bank declines a charge, the renter pays in the app no later than 12 hours before the start (one reminder 6 hours before that deadline; within 1 hour if the charge is declined later); check-in stays closed until then, and a booking still unpaid at the deadline is cancelled automatically as a cancellation by the renter.
- **Who can rent:** Age 21+ with at least 2 years of driving; a one-time ID check (ID card, driving licence, selfie); a bank card in your own name. Only the verified renter may drive.
- **Price:** The host sets the daily price; if the host enables them: +15% on weekends, −10% from 7 days, −25% from 30 days. Every started 24 hours counts as a day. Service fee: 10% of the rental (5% when you rent again from a host you have completed a trip with). The host prices delivery to the airport or an address. The full total is shown before you book.
- **Protection plans:** Basic 0 ₸/day, deductible 300 000 ₸; Standard 3 500 ₸/day, deductible 100 000 ₸; Premium 6 000 ₸/day, deductible 0 ₸. Cars of rental companies (partners) show the company’s KASKO deductible instead.
- **Deposit:** Held on the card at check-in, not charged: economy 30 000 ₸, comfort 50 000 ₸, business and minivan 70 000 ₸, SUV 80 000 ₸, any car from 60 000 ₸ a day 150 000 ₸; 1.5× for drivers under 25. Released 3 business days after check-out; only documented costs (damage within the deductible, fuel, extra kilometres, late return, fines) are deducted.
- **Check-in and check-out:** In the app, opening 3 hours before the start: a photo record of 24 shots (15 outside, 8 inside, odometer with fuel gauge) taken in the app at the handover; photos from the gallery are not accepted.
- **Contactless handover:** On cars marked so, the keys are handed over without meeting; the host first confirms the renter’s ID in the app.
- **Contact between renter and host:** Joldar chat; phone numbers appear 24 hours before the trip starts (and stay visible until 24 hours after it ends). Payments or deals outside Joldar are covered by neither protection nor the deposit.
- **Cancellation:** More than 24 hours before the start: free (nothing is charged if the trip has not been charged yet, otherwise a full refund). Later: the first day’s rental is kept and the rest (service fee, protection, other days) is refunded (if the trip was never charged, the first day’s rental is charged to the card, and if that fails too it becomes a debt, a cancellation fee payable in the app). If the host cancels: full refund. A refund more than 14 days after the charge is paid out to the same card in full.
- **Return and extra charges:** 30 minutes’ grace, then every started day at the daily price; missing fuel at 290 ₸ per litre (electric cars: return with the same charge); kilometres over the host’s daily limit at the listed rate; the host reports damage within 24 hours of check-out and other charges within 72 hours; the other side answers a claim within 48 hours; scratches or dents up to 5 cm are normal wear.
- **Early return:** Weeks of a weekly-paid trip that have started are not refunded. With at least 24 hours’ notice via “Return early” in the app, weeks starting at or after the new return time are not charged (or are refunded if already charged); without notice, a week starting within 24 hours after check-out is still charged. A length discount (−10% / −25%) is re-priced on the days actually billed and the difference is charged at check-out (for example, a 30-day trip booked at −25% and ended on day 20 pays its 21 days at −10% if the host offers the weekly discount).
- **Debts and restrictions:** An unpaid invoice (an extra charge, the part of a claim beyond the deposit, a cancellation fee), a fine not paid by its deadline (48 hours after the notice), an overdue trip payment or a deposit hold that could not be renewed closes new bookings and extensions; a trip under way is never stopped. Once everything is paid, the restriction lifts by itself.
- **Traffic fines:** Camera (Sergek) and police fines from the trip are passed to the renter within 90 days; the renter can dispute within 48 hours of the notice.
- **Reviews:** Renter and host review each other within 10 days after the trip; both reviews are published together.
- **Reporting and blocking:** Joldar has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users: obscene language, insults, hate speech, sexual content and threats are not published, and such accounts are removed from the platform. Messages, reviews, listings and profiles can be reported from the “…” menu, and Joldar reviews every report within 24 hours; users can block each other (the chat of a confirmed or ongoing trip stays open until the trip ends).
- **Hosts:** Earnings plans: 70%, 80% or 90% of the rental, with damage liability of up to 0 ₸, 150 000 ₸ or 500 000 ₸ per incident. Delivery fees and fuel and fine reimbursements go 100% to the host. The renter pays the service fee. Car: up to 12 years old, roadworthy, OGPO VTS insurance, at least 8 photos, moderation before publishing. Hosts are paid only from money Joldar has actually collected from the renter; Joldar does not guarantee the renter’s payment, and if it is late the host sees only its status (no card details or bank reasons). The payout schedule will be published once the payment partner is connected.
- **Rental companies (5+ cars):** Partner tiers: Start 5–9 cars 85%, Pro 10–24 cars 87%, Fleet 25+ cars 90%; +1% from 150 and +2% from 300 booked car-days in the previous month, up to 92%.
